The Modern British cooking, the carefully-considered wines, the warm hospitality – it all comes with us when we visit.
Monday to Friday, through the evening, we bring the experience we are known for to your home, and look after every detail once we arrive.
There will even be one of our experienced Front of House staff dedicated to making your evening seamless throughout.
Your experience involves a thoughtfully-curated menu that moves parallel to the restaurant, cooked and served course-by-course, so the whole table shares the same harmonious evening.
With wines by the bottle, or optional pairings available, we make sure your evening is one to make your friends and family jealous of.
When the last plate is cleared, we tidy everything away and leave your home just as we found it. All you need do is sit down, pour a glass, and enjoy the company around your table.

We cover all areas within an approximate 30-minute car drive of The Poet, stretching as far as Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Cranbrook or Tenterden.
We will cater for up to 16 guests, to make sure you get the best possible intimate experience.
Please fill in the enquiry form, letting us know your preferred date, number of guests, and best ways of contacting you, and we’ll get back to you within 48 hours.
The concept is to have The Poet in your home, so the three menus will reflect what seasonal menu is currently being served in the restaurant at the time. The menus will be sent to you once we reply to your initial enquiry.
We cater for the 14 main allergen groups, as we do in the restaurant, but we cannot omit certain ingredients integral to our ethos, such as garlic, alliums, salts, sugars and some spices. Gluten and dairy intolerances will be managed on a case-by-case basis, please just remember to mention that when enquiring.
There will be wine and basic cocktail packages available, from by-the-glass pairings to ‘bottle only’ choices. We will send them over with the food menus upon receipt of your enquiry.
We will be accepting requests with notice of at least 10 days before the event. This gives us time to discuss menus, wine pairings, do the ordering and preparation, and any other small details in the lead up to your dinner. The Chef may also like to have an initial consultation in the location of the event, to make note of the cooking area, available amenities, equipment, and serving space.
There is a minimum spend of £1000 per booking. There will be a non-refundable 50% deposit to be paid upon confirmation of booking, and the remaining 50% to be paid 24 hours before the event. Service charge is not included, but tipping is left to the guest’s discretion.
The Poet reserves the right to either accept or refuse your booking request, without any explanation, and nothing is confirmed until the initial 50% deposit has been paid. You will always receive confirmation of the booking, along with receipt of payment of the deposit.
